Summary: With input from her spirit guide, Jean Baardsen composed The Garden more than forty years ago. In this wee book, Jean combines the 36 lines of the poem with 36 of her photographs of joyous, colorful flowers. Included are azaleas, columbine, day lilies, hydrangeas, magnolias, and roses.

Jean Baardsen’s motto has long been taking the road less traveled.

  • Attended university year-round for three years, graduating with a BA in chemistry.
  • Happily married for more than 50 years to hubby, Ed Baardsen.
  • Lived and traveled for 14 years, with said hubby, on Tropic Moon, a 42-foot sailboat.
  • Sailed across the Atlantic Ocean, twice. (Once you’ve gone across, it makes sense to return.)
  • Served ten years as Director of Learning Resources at her local community college.
  • Pursued art, particularly fiber arts, with three solo shows, and books showcasing her work.
  • Discovered a spiritual life filled with God, spirit guides, and a precious guardian angel.
  • Lives in eastern North Carolina, ten minutes from the Atlantic, where she and Ed share their home with two budgies, Benji and Jerry.
