A graduate of the United States Naval Academy with twenty years in the Marine Corps as a Naval Flight Officer, Melissa has experience as an instructor and an editor. Since retiring from the Marines and settling in North Carolina, she has become engaged in local volunteer work to actively support community building in Carteret County.
